THE JOURNEY IN DETAIL

Turquoise coast and a sunken city.

The Lycian coast between Fethiye and Kekova means the pine-fringed bays of Göcek, rock tombs above the harbours and the underwater ruins of Simena that you drift over in the dinghy. We pick up the yacht in Fethiye, head east to Kaş and Kekova and return along the same shore. The wind is thermal and predictable and the sea is warm in May and October — a good choice for a first week with some longer legs.

  • The sunken city of Kekova and the castle at Simena
  • The bays of Göcek and Tersane island
  • Gemiler island and its Byzantine churches
  • Kaş: Lycian sarcophagi in the streets
