A winter crossing of the island.
The Transgrancanaria Classic starts at midnight from Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas and crosses Gran Canaria north to south: 126 km, 6,760 m of climbing, a finish in Maspalomas and a 30-hour limit. It is the first big race of the European season and part of the World Trail Majors. The programme also offers the 84 km Advanced, a marathon and shorter events — and February on the island means racing in shorts.
- The midnight start on Las Canteras beach
- Sunrise near Roque Nublo, 1,813 m
- Pico de las Nieves, the island’s highest point
- Finishing by the Maspalomas dunes
