THE JOURNEY IN DETAIL

A hundred through fields and monasteries.

The Golden Ring Ultra Trail gathers more than eight thousand finishers in Suzdal across distances from one kilometre to the T100 — Russia’s biggest trail event. The course rolls through fields, forest tracks and the banks of the Nerl past churches and monasteries; the climbing is modest, but heat and post-rain mud do their work. A good choice for a first hundred or first fifty in a relaxed setting, with no mountains and no visa.

  • The Suzdal start among the domes
  • The Church of the Intercession on the Nerl on the course
  • The night section across the fields
  • Finish on the main square, and a banya after

YOUR PREPARATION

Arrive ready for the route.

The T100 needs a 50 km finish and the ability to hold an even pace for many hours; the T50 is within reach after a marathon. Ivan prepares runners with long steady sessions, heat work and a fuelling plan for a runnable course.
