THE JOURNEY IN DETAIL

Rock ridges and dry winter sun.

In February Gran Canaria gives you what northern winters lack: dry rocky trails, 20 °C and long climbs from the sea to Pico de las Nieves (1,949 m). Transgrancanaria is run here, and parts of its course become our training segments. A compact six-day camp for spring race preparation.

  • Roque Nublo (1,813 m) and the Cumbre ridge at dawn
  • The Transgrancanaria descent from Garañón towards Maspalomas
  • The Guayadeque and Tejeda ravines
  • Maspalomas beach and dunes for recovery

DAY BY DAY

Your daily itinerary.

A provisional itinerary. Weather, group readiness and local conditions may change the order and length of the stages.

  1. DAY 1 · 7 km, sand and promenade

    Arrival and the dunes

Check-in, then an evening run along the beach and the edge of the Maspalomas dunes. Introductions, the week’s plan and a kit talk for dry rocky trails.

    Overnight: Hotel in Maspalomas
  2. DAY 2 · 16 km, 1,000 m of climbing

    Ayagaures and the barranco

From Ayagaures we climb the barranco trails to Degollada de la Manzanilla — a long, even-paced ascent followed by a technical descent over rock and gravel.

    Overnight: Hotel in Maspalomas
  3. DAY 3 · 18 km, 1,200 m of climbing

    Roque Nublo and the Cumbre

An early drive to Tejeda at 1,050 m. We climb to Roque Nublo (1,813 m), continue along the ridge to Pico de las Nieves (1,949 m), the island’s highest point, and drop to Cruz de Tejeda.

    Overnight: Hotel in Maspalomas
  4. DAY 4 · 10 km, 350 m of climbing

    An easy day in Guayadeque

A gentle run along the floor of the Guayadeque ravine past cave villages, then a stability session and cadence drills. Ocean and a nap after lunch.

    Overnight: Hotel in Maspalomas
  5. DAY 5 · 29 km, 700 m up and 2,300 m down

The long run on the Transgrancanaria course

From the Garañón campsite at 1,650 m we follow the marked Transgrancanaria course down through Ayagaures to the sea. Nearly 30 km, mostly descending — a workout for the quads and for in-run fuelling.

    Overnight: Hotel in Maspalomas
  6. DAY 6 · 5 km, easy

    Cool-down by the ocean
