Mountain climbs and expeditions
Kazbek and Kilimanjaro have very different characters. They share the same foundations: steady preparation, acclimatisation and decisions made with a specialist guide.
See the routesWho it is for
A solid endurance base and readiness for consecutive active days are required. Kazbek also involves specialist equipment; introductory technical sessions are part of the plan.
The pace of the journey
Approach, acclimatisation days, skills practice, the high-altitude outing and descent. Reserve time is part of the programme; a summit attempt depends on conditions.
What to bring
- Footwear and warm layers for the specific mountain and season
- Sunglasses, gloves and spare mittens
- A headtorch and personal equipment from the guide's list
- For Kazbek: agreed crampons, harness and ice axe
